Beginners Oil Painting Summer Series

Have you ever wanted to learn to oil paint, but needed that little extra help getting started? Come explore this medium, learn some basic drawing and painting skills, and discover your hidden talents!  In this 4 week class you will create an original still-life oil painting from your choice of interesting fall items displayed in a lighted still-life set-up. (Help will be provided when needed with drawing details). You will explore the elements of art (line, color, values, texture, form and space) while focusing on the effects of light in the composition.  All supplies will be provided, although students are welcome to bring their own if preferred.  A list of materials will be provided for future reference.

You are invited to leave your painting in the studio on the easel after each session.  Depending on the difficulty of the painting, most will be able to complete the painting in the 4 weeks period; if not, it may be finished at home later.

$125/ per person for 4 weeks (8 hours)
