Beginners Pottery Class Series

This workshop will introduce the basics of working with clay.  You will be exposed to wheel-thrown pottery for a couple of weeks, and hand-building techniques using a slab roller and a clay extruder the other weeks.  We will address the clay stages, terms and methods including wedging, scoring, centering, and various textures to create some functional or decorative pottery such as a mug, bowl, vase, plate, etc. One 25 lb. bag of clay will be included in the price of the class, as well as glazes and two firings. Additional bags of clay will cost $30, which will include the cost of glazes, and two firings for the additional pieces. Attendance will be important as new skills will be introduced each week. If necessary, one make-up class can be arranged.

Minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 6 people for the class.

$180/person for 4 weeks of 3 hour sessions. (12 hours) All equipment provided.
