About the event
with Lexie Mutch- Sunday, 8/20 1:30 -3:00 PM
Ages 12 and up! Explore line, light and shadow, learn to notice and practice observation. We will cover line, form, depth through still lives and interiors in pencil, charcoal and ink. Participants will discover accessible methods of achieving a life-likeness without the goal of total realism nor pursuit of “perfection.”
This class is a primer/pre-requirement for “Painting from Life” and “Drawing in Nature” to be held the following month. Prepare to sketch! Through fun gesture drawings and timed drawings we will loosen up and draw for the joy of mark-making. Value studies of various forms will establish a solid foundation for conveying light and shadow. Playing with charcoal, pencil and ink will give students an overview of possibilities for working in each medium and become a toolkit from which to choose the medium for their future artwork. Once rooted in awareness of quick methods of achieving depth and life-likeness, students will be ready to draw their world! Min. of 4 Max. of 12 Attendees. Cost is $20, all supplies provided
